Today marked the unveiling of several new features to the SSJWPA website that better help players interact with their favourite sport.

Goal tracking & attendance

Each week attendance and goals scored for each player are entered into the website along with the results of each game. This allows players (and their coaches/managers) to track their attendance and see their scores. 

Operations Director Alex Mednis gave us some insight into the new features:

"Tracking goals allows players to keep tally of their goals each week, and gives them something to aim for. We've got some cool things lined up for players with the most goals at the end of the season, best average per game, et cetera. It'll also help coaches better use their high-scoring players for attack (rather than defence), and help ensure everyone gets a go at shooting."

"Attendance tracking has more benefits for coaches & managers than players at this stage, allowing them to track who is turning up. We have a by-law that imposes a minimum of 5 games that a player must participate in to be able to play in the Semi and Grand finals. This helps us better track that information to ensure all the finals are fair"

We were sent this mysterious photo from a player who didn't want to be named. We suspected it was Alex, but our media team announced on Facebook this week that he scored his first goal, so it can't be him. If this is your picture, we'd love to know.

Recent Results

If you didn't already know - when you log in (by clicking "Member Login" at the top of any page), you get taken to your "My Water Polo" dashboard. (Pro tip: Access it direct at http://my.waterpolo.asn.au/). We've added a new "Recent Results" section so you can see your results from the last week.

But it gets better than that - you can now see the score card, and, if you have the relevant access level (such as a team manager or club representative, more particular details about the game).

You can see this information by clicking 'view' next to any result on the results pages, or by clicking 'view' next to the results in My Water Polo.

Other updates

Behind the scenes each week is a lot of updating of the various parts of our website. What you see here is a small part of the management functionality the website provides, and our Operations Staff are constantly thinking of new features for you.

Pro Tips

We've put together some Pro Tips that you might not be aware of:

1. Use your "My Water Polo" dashboard to see your next game, recent results, payment status, upcoming events and attendance/goal statistics

2. Subscribe to weekly draw alerts - emailed straight to your inbox detailing your upcoming game for the week. No need to check the draw in a hurry on Friday afternoons!

3. Update your profile to ensure you get the most out of the website
