The rule governing the situation when the ball hits the flags has been changed at our Association level.
Old Rule:
When a ball hits the flags hanging over the pool, the ball becomes a neutral ball.
New Rule:
When a ball hits the flags hanging over the pool, if the state of play is not affected (and no team is adversely affected by the collision), then the game should play on. If the state of play is affected (or a team is advantaged) by the collision, the ball will become a neutral ball.
----
This is to ensure that if a ball only lighting grazes the flags and it's trajectory is not significantly altered, the game can play on as if the ball had never hit the flags.
It is now in effect for all SSJWPA games.
Any comments or queries about this rule (or any others) can be directed to the Association Committee.
